She’s currently continuing with one of the sexiest pop concerts to hit Vegas with her residency in Sin City.
And now fans to iconic music star Britney Spears have a chance to own a little bit of pop history. Seven of the Oops! I Did It Again hitmaker’s stage costumes are now being auctioned on Ebay.
They include the skimpy green outfit she wore for her sultry performance, in which she famously brought a snake on stage with her, at the MTV Music Awards.
The seller expects to reach $1m for the outfit, but bids are currently sitting at only $46,000.
Music memorabilia collector Dana Proctor is also selling off a number of Britney’s former outfits, along with the chaps and trousers she wore for her Overprotected music video and a football jersey crop top she donned for her 2001 Super Bowl performance. All outfits are being sold with authenticity certificates.
The auction still has another week to go and anyone who buys the items is expected to purchase them as one lot. There is no option for the costumes to be separated.
Coming to an end
Britney is currently starring in a long running residency at Planet Hollywood on Las Vegas Strip. Britney: Piece of Me is set to finish on New Year’s Eve after a whopping four years of performances which have given her once flagging career a huge boost.
By the end of the year, the show will have earned more than $100m in ticket sales alone. She has Tweeted that she is going to find it incredibly hard to say goodbye to such a successful show. However, her manager has hinted that she may well be back in Vegas at some point in the future.
Meanwhile, there are plans in the pipeline for a Britney Spears musical. According to theatrical insiders, Britney is in talks to turn her musical numbers into a huge Broadway production once her residency in Vegas comes to a close.
The 35 year old is already understood to have met with legendary theatre producer Jerry Mitchell. However, any fans hoping that the production will tell the story of her life is set to be disappointed as the idea is that it focuses only on her music.
It is hoped that the pop princess will herself star in the stage adaption of her songs, which will follow a similar format to Mamma Mia! by putting her songs together into a fictional storyline.
