Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra spoke up about Vanity Fair magazine’s focus on Suits star Meghan Markle’s love life rather than other important aspects of her life.
What She Said
Priyanka Chopra, Bollywood and, now, Hollywood star, decided to speak up about Meghan Markle’s appearance on Vanity Fair Magazine, pointing out how they primarily focused more on her love life and less on other important things about her.
Meghan Markle was featured in a cover story on Vanity Fair Magazine, in which the magazine paid particular attention to her relationship with Prince Harry. This is even though Markle said in the article: “I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
Chopra being a close friend to the actress, commented on this, saying: “I don’t know if I will get into trouble for this, but I have an opinion. I mean, she’s on the cover of Vanity Fair. It would have been nice to write about her not just her boyfriend. I’m just saying. I mean, she’s an actor, she’s an activist, she’s a philanthropist. I mean, she does so much more.”
She continued to say: “It’s just a little sexist. Look, I’m a feminist and I love boys, okay… The only thing I’m saying is that there needs to be a certain sense of equality where a woman is not just a plus one, you know. It’s nice to be your own identity too.”
Markle The Individual
Meghan Markle as an actress, first made her debut in her role on “General Hospital” in 2002. However, she is best known for her role as “Rachel Zane” in the TV comedy/drama law show “Suits.” Before becoming an actress, she studied Political Science in hopes of carrying on her profession in the political field.
Other than her activity on TV, Markle is also the founder of “The Tig,” a “lifestyle website and brand,” a fashion designer and an activist for women’s rights in the “Women’s Political Participation and Leadership” UN Programme.
