Given the destructive hurricanes that have been wreaking havoc in the US, several celebrities including Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Barbara Streisand, Robert De Niro, and more, are coming together for the “Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief” benefit.
In light of the disastrous hurricanes, Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, several celebrities such as Jared Leto, Beyonce, Justin Bieber and more were announced to be lining up for the “Hand in Hand Hurricane Relief” benefit, which will be taking place on September 12th to raise money for those affected.
Others involved in the benefit include Barbara Streisand, Robert De Niro, George Clooney, George Strait, Julia Roberts, Matthew McConaughey, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and countless others.
The telethon will be airing from 8pm Eastern Time, and is expected to run for an hour, and broadcasted by ABC, NBC, Fox, CBS as well as cable CMT. The exact performances taking place have not yet been confirmed. More information will be delivered closer to the benefit date.
Several of those celebrities have taken to Twitter to express their honor in taking part in the benefit. Justin Bieber uploaded an image of the event’s poster on Instagram, with a caption, reading: “Honored to be taking part in such a great cause.” He also shared a video, where he said: “Just looking at these photos from Hurricane Harvey. I just want to say that I am so sorry to all the families that have lost their homes, people that have lost their lives.”
Where Will The Money Go?
The money raised from the “Hand in Hand” benefit will be given to a number of charities that are helping Houston recover from the devastating floods that happened due to Hurricane Harvey.
Such charities include “Habitat for Humanity,” “United Way of Greater Houston,” “Save the Children,” the Mayor’s “Hurricane Relief Harvey” Fundraiser, and “Feeding Texas.”
